40mm Fabufill Polyester Insulation

Thermally Bonded Polyester Insulation

Platinum Fibre is proud of its industry leading status that we are the only polyester insulation manufacturer in South Africa that has the SABS mark.

Platinum Fibre’s Fabufill polyester insulation is a versatile, easy to install, flexible, strong, lightweight blanket and is manufactured from recycled PET (polyethylene terephthalate) plastic bottles. Produced in a range of different thickness to provide a myriad of thermal and acoustic performances. This non-allergenic, non-irritant and resilient insulation does not support the spread of flame (Class B/B1/2 fire rating).

Used in roofs, ceilings, partitions and walls and is manufactured in widths to suit standard spacings of studs, ceiling and floor joists.

After its use, Fabufill’s polyester insulation can be easily recycled, making this the perfect ‘cradle to grave’ insulation product.

INSTALLATION GUIDELINES

Installation tools:

Fabufill polyester insulation can be easily torn or cut with a pair of industrial scissors or shears.

Installation methods:

Lay loose on ceiling board or suspended between trusses with restraining wires at 300mm intervals.

The distance between roof trusses, ceiling joists and walls studs should be measured, and the appropriate roll widths used.

Fabufill rolls should be installed between the members and the ends of the rolls should be carefully butted or lapped to ensure that the insulation is continuous.

A 50mm gap should be created around downlighters, recessed lights, flue pipes or any low heat sources.

Storage:

Rolls to be stored under cover, laid horizontally and stacked no more than 10 units high. Rolls should be kept dry and must not be exposed to a naked flame or any other ignition source.
